It may seem that little has been happening on the site over the winter months. However we have been working hard in the background with the securing of small grants, arranging contrcats and getting dates for the work to be completed as well as all the other jobs that need completing with such a large and complex project.
The following is a brief update of some of the work completed or in hand.
fence at bath house
Having secured a grant via Caerphilly County Borough Council the new fencing work has now been completed. There are several areas on the perimeter of the site that have been better fenced but the main work was beyond the old bath house providing a barrier from the sheep and a proper gated access for the tenant farmer in the field beyond.
Similarly a grant has been secured via GAVO (Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations) from the Gildermeister Community Benefit Grant 2018.
This grant is to enable us to have a new electrical installation within the Power House building. The work will supply separate power sources and metering to the containers, the Snack Box and other areas. We have already started to dig the rquired trenches and the actual electrical installation will follow as soon as possible.
Following the arson attack in June 2018 we have at last been able to secure refurbishment of the site cabin which has been completely shot blasted and painted. The work has been completed by The Welsh Gate Company/ACD Blast Cleaning who carried out a very professional renovation. The picture alongside shows the repainetd cabin with the two operatives involved.
