Work has started (October 2023) on the smallest of the buildings on the top level. This is known as the "Pay Office" and was the administrative hub of the colliery where clerical staff were situated and from where initially wages were paid to the miners.

At present the tops of the walls are being stabilised and the pictures below show the amount of work already carried out.
